Central Billing Manager - Corporate (Full-Time)

LOCATION: Family Health Care of Siouxland Corporate

POSITION: Central Billing Manager – Full-time (minimum 35 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Manages specific administrative functions related to the operations of the assigned location.

SUPERVISOR: CEO

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in filing and collecting insurance claims from individual carriers or agencies.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Knowledge of coding.
  • Knowledge of compliance, cost reimbursement, and insurance negotiating procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to process patients and agency inquiries.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, insurance organizations, and the public.
  • Associate degree, preferably in business. College degree preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in medical practice and one (1) year working with commercial, Medicare, and HMO insurance procedures.
  • Medical office experience may be substituted for education requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages the central billing office within the established budget.
  • Manages the filing and resolution of claims with individual carriers or agencies. Insures maximum reimbursement through strategic financial planning.
  • Reviews and evaluates health insurance claim policies and procedures for insurance plans. Develops new procedures to improve the quality and quantity of work processed.
  • Monitors and evaluates monthly insurance reimbursements compliance and budgets.
  • Solves difficult insurance claim problems.
  • Supervises and trains/orients assigned personnel. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, disciplinary actions.
  • Initiates and answers pertinent correspondence. Prepares and writes reports. Maintains required records and files.
  • Supervises the gathering of data to determine credit status of patient accounts.
  • Supervises the monitoring of private pay patient accounts for delinquent payments.
  • Follows collection policy guidelines and refers to collection agency upon physician approval.
  • Checks collection management reports to keep accounts receivable current.
  • Supervises the running of routine insurance claim forms and statements to check on credit status.
  • Ensures that various insurance filing deadlines are met and appropriate data are provided.

Certified Diabetic Educator - South Sioux City Clinic (Full-Time)

LOCATION: Family Health Care of Siouxland South Sioux City Clinic

POSITION: Certified Diabetic Educator – Full-time (minimum 35 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Educates patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity and glucose testing. Collects patient data to monitor health status and proactively manage the patients condition.

SUPERVISOR: CEO and Clinic Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments

Customer Relations Representative - Morningside Clinic (Full-Time)

LOCATION: Family Health Care of Siouxland Morningside Clinic

POSITION: Customer Relations Representative – Full-Time (minimum 35 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and visitors. This position will serve as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.

SUPERVISOR: Clinic Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • Team player with outstanding interpersonal abilities
  • Able to operate basic business machines
  • Independent thinker
  • Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills

Medical Lab Assistant - Urgent Care (On-Call)

LOCATION: Family Health Care of Siouxland – Urgent Care Clinics

POSITION: Medical Lab Assistant – On-Call (less than 24 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Performs technical laboratory testing in the clinic laboratory; or
Performs a variety of support services in the clinic laboratory, provides phlebotomy services for all clients and performs limited routine laboratory testing in the clinical laboratory.

SUPERVISOR: Urgent Care Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques/equipment to perform routine blood and urine tests; and perform quality control checks.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results.
  • Skill in labeling and maintaining all materials for collection.
  • Skill in preparing written reports concerning the results of laboratory tests and input data into computer system.
  • Skill in making mathematical computations utilizing standard formulae.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and to communicate clearly, both verbally and written.
  • Computer data entry experience required.
  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • One year of medical laboratory/phlebotomy experience/certification preferred

    Radiology Technologist - Urgent Care (On-Call)

    LOCATION: Family Health Care of Siouxland – Urgent Care

    POSITION: Radiology Technologist – On-Call (less than 24 hours/week; primarily weekend Urgent Care hours on Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

    Optional sign-on bonus of $2,000 available for qualified candidates committing to a minimum of 2 shifts per week.

    GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
    Operates radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-ray films as directed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures.

    SUPERVISOR: Urgent Care Manager

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area for radiography.
    • Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing.
    • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement.
    • Skill in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging.
    • Skill in training residents, student technologists and co-workers in equipment operation and procedures.
    • Skill in troubleshooting equipment operation and performing simple adjustments.
    • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
    • Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices.
    • Ability to identify problems, work independently and communicate clearly.
    • Completion of course in radiology technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
    • Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
    • Preference will be given to candidates who also have lab experience.

    Ultrasound Tech - Imaging Center (On-Call)

    LOCATION: Family Health Care of Siouxland – Imaging Center

    POSITION: Ultrasound Tech – On-Call (less than 24 hours/wk.) 

    SUPERVISOR: Imaging Center Supervisor

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be credentialed through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with Ob, Abdomen (RDMS), and Vascular (RVT); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography RT(S) and Vascular RT(VS); Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Vascular (RVS).
    • Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones.
    • Perform ultrasound procedures, Doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, Ob-Gyn procedures as required.
    • Utilize accessory equipment such as selective transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.
    • Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff.
    • Provide expertise in ultrasound technology to physicians and staff to include handling instruments, operating and monitoring equipment and calling out equipment readings.
    • Collaborates in quality control of equipment and filming and obtains service as required. Establish quality control standards in ultrasound and monitor standards; ensure compliance and documentation in ultrasound for the company.
    • Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures. Provides direction and instruction to existing personnel and training to new sonographers.
    • Ensures correct charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies on a daily basis.
